Upgrade

The standard installation of miniMrp version 4 does not overwrite a version 3 installation.

To upgrade from version 3 (any version from 3.0 to 3.9) :-

1. Do a full install of version 4. This will install an empty database - As explained above this does NOT overwrite any existing v3 data.

2. You can then use the restore feature of v4 to restore a v3 backup file. If you don't have a v3 backup file you can navigate directly to the v3 data file and select that following the instructions below.

A standard v3 installation is usually in the folder :-

C:\Program Files\miniMrp

Note: On 64bit versions of Windows the folder is C:\Program Files(x86)\miniMrp

In the program folder is a file called EMRP.AXI (If you've intentionally moved the program and data to a different folder - perhaps a network shared folder - then you would go to that file instead)

Using the restore feature you can navigate to your v3 program folder and select the EMRP.AXI file. The default mode is for miniMrp4 to restore a backup .BKP file but you can change the selection dialog to "*.* AnyFile" and select the EMRP.AXI file instead.

Restoring a v3 backup or datafile as explained above does not make any changes to the v3 data. miniMrp4 makes a private copy of the v3 data and restores/upgrades from that private copy.

As with all software related issues we would still recommend you make backups of any critical data before ever installing anything on any computer.

NOTE miniMrp version 2.0 - 2.9 miniMrp4 can NOT import or upgrade version 2 data or backups. If you are using version 2 then you should first install miniMrp 3 (The free trial of v3 is sufficient) which will convert your database to v3 after which it can be restored into v4.
