Topic:   Updating a database

I am testing out MiniMRP Pro and initially used an old database. I am trying to update the database to the current version. I transferred the database from parts and vendors using MiniMRP4 and copied it to the correct location for the backup database (MiniMRP5 Pro). An error comes up "MiniMRP needs the 'DBTools' program but DBTools is missing." Any ideas?

On your computer did you do a full install of the MiniMrp v5 program?

The installation of the software creates a folder on your computer for the program, database and the tools.

That would usually install in the folder
c:\program files\minimrp5

On a 64bit computer the folder is
c:\program files(x86)\minimrp5

Did you try to move any of the folders or their contents? Inside the miniMrp folder is another folder called \Tools You can't move that folder or its contents.

Maybe try reinstalling the MiniMRP v5 to make sure the necessary files are in their proper places.

I also want to add that you should not run the DBTools program directly (ie don't double click its icon to start it) unless you're migrating to/from SQL Server.

If you're using the default MiniMRP database then use the Restore option within MiniMRP which will load DBTools in the background if necessary (provided DBTools is in the above mentioned Tools folder.)

Thank you. I reinstalled MiniMRP and it worked great.
