We are currently testing MiniMrp, in our current system our oicking list shows which GRN to take stock from.
We can use a seperate system to print a label for goods in, creating a GRN, then just write that GRN on the MiniMrp picking list, but is there any better method?

Your method of generating a GRM label for received goods and then writing that GRM number onto the Pick List for tracking purposes is probably the best method anyway - the old methods are often the best.
