Topic:   Shortage Reports

When running a shortage report from the report menu, it appears that it is only showing shortages for "PARTS" and does not include any "ASSY/CSAS" that may be short. When running a shortage report from the Work Order Screen for a specific Work Order it does show shortages for "ASSY/CSAS" that are short to complete the Work Order. Why does the shortage report not show all "PARTS", "ASSY" , "CSAS" that are required to complete a given work order? Can this be fixed?

We are working on an update to the shortage reports. Thisnupdate should be available next week. So, early July (2019)

How is the update coming along?

Hello Mathew.

Sorry about the delay. It turns out to be a little more complicated than I first thought.

It's fairly easy for us to get ASSY and CSAS assemblies into the shortage forecast but we're not sure what to do about the 'Buy' checkbox. In the case of sub assemblies you may wish to 'build' some assemblies whereas others may be purchased/assembled via a sub contractor. So, in theory, we would need both a 'Buy' checkbox (like purchased items) and a 'Build' button for sub assemblies you wish to build.

We do have a version that now includes ASSY/CSAS assemblies on the shortage report but it does not show any buy/build checkbox at all for ASSY/CSAS. It simply tells you there's a shortage and it's up to you to decide what to do about it.

If you want I can send that version to you. Email me and I'll have it sent tomorrow.

I think there's another update in the pipeline - this one will allow you to flag sub assemblies to either build or buy. Not sure where that one is though. I'll check that and post info to this page soon.

HI I'm testing your sw and I've had ths problem:
art. 1 = 2pc.
Assy A -> 10pc. of art.1
Assy B -> 10pc. of art.1
Assy C -> Assy A + Assy B + spares
shortage Assy C for art.1 = (10-2)+ (10-2) = 16 instead of (10 + 10)-2 = 18
Some suggestion?
Thanks

Sorry. I've tested this every way I can think of and I always get correct shortage = 18

Can you email us a screen-shot of your shortage report. You may be correct but I need to see your report and then I'll maybe figure out where it's going wrong.

Take a screenshot of the report and email to:-

Thanks
