Topic:   Sharing database on network drive?

By: GuestPosted on: Jan 5 2021 at 10:21:59 AM
I would like to have a maximum of 3 users sharing the database on a network drive.
Can this be done with the Standard version or only on the Pro version?
I'm having a look around the trial Standard version and can't find a way to point it to a database other than the default one saved here:
C:Program Files (x86)MiniMRP5Data

In the bottom right corner of the program window is the button "UserManual". Click that and that opens a webpage with the menu option "Network/MultiUser".

But to answer your question. The 'pro' version does have a button that allows you to select a data file located on a network shared folder.

But sharing is also possible using the Standard version. In fact even for Pro users, unless using a dedicated SQL Server, we would recommend the 'standard' method.

Here's a direct link to the page that explains standard network sharing.

When I click the "UserManual" button in the bottom right corner of the program window, the webpage that opens does not have a menu option "Network/MultiUser".

When I click on the link you have provided, I get a 404 error.

Where can I find information on sharing the standard JET database on a network drive?

Sorry about the 404 error. It was a broken link. The link should work now.
