Topic: Keeping Track of Different Lots

I was wondering if this program is capable of tracking quantities between distinct lots of the same part.
I have been working with the free trail and can't seem to find an easy way to implement this.
Let me know if I missed something.

|We have a label whacker. No idea what it's really called. Looks a bit like an over sized stapler. When we receive a delivery we take the whacker and dial the next number (GRN Number) into the device and place a small label on each part if the parts are big or on the box if they're small. Also the same label on the GRN note.

|I'm more trying to keep track of it in the software. Like can we trace a defective assembly back to the lot of parts it was made from.

|No traceability in MiniMrp. The best you could do is write down your GRN number used on the picking list. Obviously you need that label on the parts received.
We do the same as mentioned here, although we copy the received details into access, then print labels. We also use a custom report print for the pick list, again via access to give us a better layout, then if needed write down the picked GRN for the works order.
If you need automatic actual lot tracking, you are going to have to go for a bigger system.
