Topic:   How to search for an asterisk in the description?

We have some component descriptions that start with one or more asterisks (e.g. "***Merged" or "***Duplicate"). How can one search for an asterisk in the description field? I've tried "*" and "**" and "[*]" and "*" without success.

Ah. Problem is the asterisk is seen by Microsoft as a Wildcard (repace any other character) so may not be able to search for the asterisk itself.

Give me a little time I'll run some tests see if I can figure out a way round it

One can search for an asterisk character in the Description field by entering the search string "%*%" (percent asterisk percent) into the Description column's "Apply filter" search box.

Note that this trick only works when right-clicking on the "Description" column header, selecting "Apply Filter", then entering the three characters (percent asterisk percent). If these three characters are entered into the search box in the lower-right corner, then all parts are returned.
