I found out that you're able to delete data from a BOM when you're a 'standard' user, for example an operator. The only question that comes up 'Do you really want to delete? I would have thought the deletion role should be for administrator.... Am, I missing something?....and if this is the case, how do we handle information / data traceability and the reason why this data was deleted?

In the pro version there's a UAC (User Access Control) page in setup where you can give different users different permissions. You could give some people ReadOnly access to Assemblies?

How do I delete groups of records, or even wipe an entire BOM without deleting every individual part number?

Delete a group of records. Do you mean delete a group of parts? Go to "Inventory - All Components". In the top corner of the window is a small button with 3 bars. Click that and select the 'Multi-select' option. Different versions might give that option different names but you'll see it. Click that. You can now filter and select/highlight multiple items and then right click into th selected group and select 'Delete'. You won't be able to delete items that exist on purchase orders or anything like that.

Delete an entire BOM. If you delete a BOM (an assembly) that does not delete the parts/components contained/used in the assembly.
