Topic:   BULK CHANGES TO CATEGORY

I haveuploaded some parts using a csv file. They all come in as "NEW" in the category. I have tried exporting them back out, then changing the category to what I require. when I import the fields back in, the "NEW category remains. Is there a way of changing the NEW category for many files, without having to change each one individually?

Latest version does that.

This is from an old thread but I just wanted to come back and say that there is now a way to change the name of a category. Go to the menu and select :-

Inventory>Components By Category

That brings up a list of all your categories and a column showing number of items in that category.
To the right of the list click the Lock to unlock and then key in your new category name directly into the box overwriting the old category name. When you then hit the 'Enter' key you'll get a prompt telling you that you're renaming a category and the number of items that are affected.

That old thread explains how to rename a category. Using that method all of the NEW items would be renamed to something else. But they'd still all be the same category.

I assume the OP does not want ALL of the items to be in the same catagory.
