"Allocated shortages" is not generating a report even if I have some parts for which the allocated quantities are greater than the parts on hand.
I'm using miniMRP with Crossover on a MAC. May this be related?

Nobody has ever reported this problem so I wonder if it is a Crossover/Apple Mac issue? ie not affecting most other users on Windows machines.
Do the work orders have Build Dates out into the future ie beyond the report date?

I've read your question again and I think there's been a misunderstanding. You're talking about 'Parts' (ie not assemblies)
The report you are referring to "Allocated Shortages" is in the "Assemblies" area. That report only shows shortages of sub assemblies. For example CSAS Sub Assemblies that you will build on other work orders.
That report does not show shortages of components. For that you need to look into the other reports such as Snapshot or Forecast.
