trying to stream line part numbers so the Bom on the MRP can be used for programming Pick and place and sourcing parts on Octopart. I need to change the parts numbers we have. is there any way to export the inventory list so I can edit the details then reimport. I tried it but the part number seems to have stayed the same. or can I delete the database and then import a modified CSV file. many thanks..

If you export your inventory to CSV and edit the part number and re-import then MiniMRP will see new part numbers and import them as new parts. It would not know to overwrite the old part numbers.

I suppose you could delete the MiniMRP database and then reinstall MiniMRP and that would give you a new/empty data file.

Also. When exporting/importing etc make backups before doing things so that you can go back a step if you change your mind or if it doesn't work the way you expected

I thought as much.. appreciate the reply though.. is it possible to install the EXE file in different folders.. I have some parts that are our stock an some that are a range of customers.. not sure how best to manage this.. at moment I'm using Category but its a bit unwieldy .. effectively I need 5 versions to access each with its own data set

Look in the C PROGRAM FILES folder to see how the standard Minimrp program is installed.

There's no reason why you can't copy that folder to your desktop or make multiple copies on your desktop. It's easy to create as many separate folders as you want with different inventory.
