Topic:   Part picking rules and GRN tracking

We track components in our builds by GRN. In miniMRP, what rules are applied when picking from stock, which may be from several separate deliveries. Can the picking process be carried out manually i.e. we choose from which delivery of a given part what goes into the build?

This is how we do it.
We've got a label 'gun' that is used to place labels quickly on a number of items. Same as you'd use in a store to stick those little price labels on cans.

When a delivery arrives we get the GRN number. Dial that into the gun and whack a label onto every box, tray etc.

When we come to build something later we print out the pick list and as the person picks each item of the shelf he jots the GRN number onto the row in the pick list.

When the finished product is shipped to the customer we staple the pick list onto our copy of the order/shipping document and file that away.

Yes. I know it's not 'paperless' but it works for us just fine.

Hi, thanks for your advice. At present we are trialling miniMRP and we really want to be able to do it within the software. Unfortunately, at this moment it looks like this will not be achievable, which is a shame because otherwise it is a great tool that suits our size and stage of development as an organisation. I think we will have to start looking elsewhere?
