Topic:   Mass write-offs

Is there any way of doing mass/bulk write off, e.g. when retiring a product or just doing clean-up of older projects?

No. Not at the moment.

How would you want this to work? I mean would you want to delete (or hide/obsolete) an assembly and all of the components it contains? What about components that are used in other assemblies? We obviously couldn't remove those.

Or would you prefer to go to the 'All Components' list and get a column of checkboxes where you place a checkmark by the ones you want to 'write off'. That could still be quite tedious if you had a few thousand items in your inventory.

The feature doesn't exist at the moment so we're open to suggestions for a future update.

OK. Since it is not something that is used more than 1 or 2 times a year, i think it's best to postpone this to a later feature upgrade of the v5.
I'll give some thoughts to how this could be implemented, without destroying the simple and accessible layout.

So I have the same problem, sort of. We now buy all our PC assemblies as turnkey, so I don't need to track the hundreds of components that went into them. I simply don't buy those parts anymore, and would really like to delete them faster than one at a time

We're currently adding a menu option to enable Multi-Row-Select. You'll then be able to delete the selected rows or hide them etc.

This update should be available Monday 18. February 2019

But. Bear in mind that when you delete the items one at a time MiniMRP checks to see if the item exists in any currently active purchase orders and refuses to delete the item.

It also checks to see if the item exists in any BOMs and prompts you to confirm that you really want to delete the item.

But if you were to select many items for deletion then how are we supposed to warn you of those things? We obviously can't popup a 100 messages asking if you're sure for each item.

You're the guys that want this feature - so what would you suggest?
